    Federal Drinking Water Compliance Program, Health Canada
    Rapporteur for two national workshops for Federal Drinking Water Purveyors, creating a comprehensive record of the proceedings for circulation to the participants. (2005-2006)
    Content editor for a newsletter aimed at federal employees working in the drinking water field. (2005)

    First Nations and Inuit Health Branch, Health Canada
    Writer of an overview document on managing drinking water supplies on First Nations lands, in collaboration with a group representing Health Canada, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and First Nations communities. This overview was complemented by a series of protocols which Roberta edited, laid out in a consistent manner, and compiled into an easy-to-use format. (2001-2002)

    Provincial Government

    British Columbia Office of the Provincial Health Officer
    Editor of a report to be presented to the provincial legislature about activities conducted under the Drinking Water Protection Act during the 2003/04 and 2004/05 fiscal years.

    Intergovernmental Committees

    Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water
    Communications support to the committee secretariat. Contributions include:
    • Taking notes and preparing minutes at each of the past dozen meetings
    • Preparing templates for reports and presentations
    • Updating the document, "Canadian Drinking Water Guidelines: Development Process"
    • Developing an orientation binder for Committee members
    • Assisting with the creation of a comprehensive, user-friendly, password protected web site for Committee business

    Drinking Water Publications

    Guidance for Safe Drinking Water in Areas of Federal Jurisdiction (2005)
    Editor at various stages of development (2003-2005). This document was produced by a working group made up of representatives from each of the federal departments that have responsibility for providing drinking water to employees and/or clients, as well as in First Nations communities.

    From Source to Tap: Guidance on the Multi-Barrier Approach to Safe Drinking Water (2004)
    Lead writer, editor and desktop publisher of this 250-page guidance manual, published jointly by the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Committee on Drinking Water and the Canadian Council of Ministers of the Environment.

    Tobacco Control Policy and Communications

    Federal Government

    Tobacco Control Programme, Health Canada
    Writer and editor of a variety of communications materials. (1999-2006)
    • Edited consultation documents for proposed regulations and prepared analyses of the comments received
    • Edited a series of procedures manuals for Tobacco Inspectors
    • Developed FAQs for the Programme's website
    • Created information sheets for manufacturers and importers of tobacco products

    Rapporteur for a two-day expert consultation on the "Ethics of Harm Reduction" and writer of a comprehensive report of the proceedings. (2004)
